"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the
vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V. "--V, V for Vendetta
Fucking Brilliant. 5 thumbs up. Top Class. Hugo.Weaving.Was.Fucking.Brilliant
I really cannot emphasize the magnitude of his acting skills so brilliantly woven to fit the structural meshwork of a dashing debonair upon which lies the bricked bastion of genetic supremacy coupled with the sheer intensity and virtuosity of a tortured man bent upon exacting his vitrolic vengeance on a government which had schematically and systemically torn down a nation leaving behind a shredded pathetic shell of its former self.
Plus i really really liked the metaphorical reference of the Guy Fawkes mask. I'd never again be able to watch the Mardi Gras on tv without laughing my head off.
Natalie Portman was awesome in this movie as well...her acting far more visceral this time around as compared to her earlier pallid perfomances. Damn her for looking gorgeous even when she's bald.
I was also pleasantly surprised and muchly appreciated the nod to Alexander Dumas's Count of Monte Cristo. I'm a great great fan and am indeed very gratified by the homage paid to the novel and its characters...a brilliant reprisal of Edmond Dantes..though..err..this one was definitely more disturbing.
Many memorable quotes in this movie...but the one that nearly got me bawling my eyes out was this one.
Finch: "So who was he?"
Evey: "He was Edmond Dantés. And he was my father, and my mother. My brother, and my friend. He was you...and me. He was all of us"
It reminded me of sacrifice, love, hate, desperation and shuffling off this mortal coil weighed down by 9 stone or more. Depressing depressing.
I also caught the trailers for Tristan and Isolde as well as Poseidon and X3. I'm definitely catching the former. My love for James Franco knew no bounds after watching him as the depressed tweaked-out son of De Niro in City by the Sea. I'm not too sure of Poseidon...looks to me like a high-budget version of the Perfect Storm with a good measure of Titanic thrown in..furthur capitalising on the emotional melodrama of the 2004(was it?) SEA tsunami disaster.
Oh well...if i'm bored..
What the FUCK is up with X3? I'm aggrieved. WHERE THE FUCK IS GAMBIT? AND WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH WARREN WORTHINGON? He looks like a fucking tweaked-out twinkie doing a bodyshot for a cheese-dish magazine. *is disgusted* Although the casting director did one thing right. Kelsey Grammer's a great choice for Hank. WHERE'S GAMBIT??
I'm getting sick of them promising his appearance for every single movie only to disappoint in the end by saying that they are unable to fit him in the plot. If u can fucking change the original line-up, u can definitely find a way to integrate him in!
As for other matters... i need a fucking job. ASAP. If not for the money...to cure me of this slump im in.
Later~
